TTW Receive Funds From National Lottery!

Posted on 11 March 2022

Great news! The National Lottery “Together For Sustainable Community Climate Action” has awarded TTW with £10,000 to help our community to take practical climate action. Huge thanks to National Lottery players for helping to make this possible.

This will specifically take the form of a digital and physical sustainability map of Worthing as well as workshops and talks to help enable our community to access information about local projects, businesses, community groups and experts that are currently leading the way, or beginning to take steps, to becoming more sustainable and reducing their carbon footprint. By making this info a lot more accessible, this in turn can help inspire others, when they see it’s actually possible for everyone to help in some way.

Once we have created an outline of what we have included in the map, and what we might like to also include, we will post on here ways in which you might be able to help provide additional information, so watch this space….

This very welcome support comes at a time when a group of us are trying to get a climate emergency centre/community hub off the ground. If you haven’t already done so, please could you complete the survey.

Very busy repair cafe yesterday, fully booked with 12 on the waiting list! We tackled 47 repairs, many of which were successful. Huge thanks to all our wonderful volunteers and to those who came along and made our day such fun.

What fun we have had pressing grapes this week at our community allotment! The juice is really delicious, especially when combining red with white!

Some of our team were away today so we couldnt do as many repairs as usual. Apologies to those who couldnt get a booking and we are very full for the next one already on the electrical side, although we will have space for sewing repairs.

Big thanks to all who braved the weather today, especially to our wonderful team who are faced with unpredictable and often very challenging repairs, but handle them with a smile and a cheerful conversation.

Very busy day yesterday at the Repair Cafe - 42 items brought in to repair and most of them successful. Big thanks to our wonderful team of volunteers - repairers and kitchen crew - it would not happen without your selfless support and expertise each month.

Now taking bookings for next one - Sat. August 26th: https://www.ttworthing.org/repair-cafe/
